We construct a class of boundary conditions that generalizes the diagonal gauge of Anti-de Sitter to flat spacetimes. We show that the associated asymptotic symmetries decompose into genuine physical transformations and pure gauge redundancies, the latter being generated by Carrollian screening charges.
