In this construction, $\\mathbf{Λ}_{\\mathrm{k}}^{\\ast }$ denotes the dual of the even lattice $\\mathbf{Λ}_{\\mathrm{k}}$ and $\\mathbf{Λ}_{\\mathrm{k}\\mathcal{C}}$ is an even self-dual intermediate lattice with a (d,d) signature.
