For a variety of groups $\\X$, we study semidirect products of $\\XT$-groups (groups where $\\langle A, B\\rangle \\in\\X$ for any two $\\X$-subgroups $A$ and $B$ with nontrivial intersection) and $\\CSX$-groups (groups where all maximal $\\X$-subgroups are malnormal).
