Motivated by the question of Maz'ya on the uncertainty principle for divergence-free vector fields, solved by Cazacu, Flynn and Lam for $N=2$ and by Hamamoto for $N\\ge3$, we study the second order principle for divergence-free fields $\\mathbf{U}$ on $\\mathbb{R}^N$. We prove that $\\int|Δ\\mathbf{U}|^2dx\\int|x|^2|\\nabla\\mathbf{U}|^2dx\\ge C_N^2(\\int|\\nabla\\mathbf{U}|^2dx)^2$, where $C_N=1+\\frac12\\sqrt{N^2+8}$ for $N\\ge3$ and $C_2=1+\\sqrt2$.
