Analytically dense Mordell-Weil rank jumps on elliptic surfaces via transverse realization
Let $\mathcal{W}_{\mathrm{min},n}$ be the moduli stack of minimal Weierstrass fibrations of Faltings height $n$ over an unparameterized $\mathbb{P}^1_{\mathbb{C}}$, and let $\mathcal{W}_n^{\mathrm{sb}}$ be its dense open substack of simply-branched surfaces with only ${\mathop{\rm I}}_1$ singular fibres. For integers $n\ge2$ and $r$ satisfying $1\le r\le\left\lfloor\frac{10n-2}{n-1}\right\rfloor$, we prove that every point of $\mathcal{W}_n^{\mathrm{sb}}$ is a limit of pairwise non-isomorphic surfaces in this locus carrying $r$ independent Mordell-Weil sections with indivisible Shioda…
