A Concentration of Measure Phenomenon in the Principal Chiral Model
We utilize the concentration of measure phenomenon to study the double limit (large-$N$ and continuum) of the $O(N)$ principal chiral model, where the large-$N$ limit is performed before the continuum one. The partition function in this double limit is demonstrated to be that of a free massive theory. The result depends crucially on the order in which the limits are taken.
