Number Theory of Decaying Turbulence 2: The Energy Spectrum and the Riemann Zeta Zeros
The odd Euler ensemble, the locally stable attractor of the momentum-loop dynamics of freely decaying incompressible turbulence, has a self-similar energy spectrum \(E(k,t)=L^{-3/2}H(kL)\), \(L\sim\sqrt{\tildeνt}\), which does not depend on the dimension of space. We compute its scaling function as a Mellin--Barnes integral whose amplitude contains the ratio \(ζ(p+15/2)/ζ(p+17/2)\) of Riemann zeta functions; the odd ensemble differs from the even one by a prime-\(2\) Euler factor. The integral is evaluated by deforming the contour to Lefschetz thimbles. The non-trivial zeros of \(ζ(s)\)…
