In these notes, basic concepts and necessary formulas for the modeling of elastic lepton-nucleon and quasielastic lepton-nucleus scattering using relativistic models are discussed. Certain theoretical developments are presented in meticulous detail, particularly those rarely found in papers or standard textbooks.
