The purpose of this note is to show that the computation of the universal norms in Iwasawa cohomology for the $p$-adic cyclotomic extension implies an analogous result for any $p$-adic extension that contains the cyclotomic extension. In addition, we prove a twisted cyclotomic variant, which applies to all Lubin--Tate extensions.
