The Fixed-$q$ Edge Limit of the $q$-Krawtchouk Ensemble

We study the fixed-$q$ right-edge asymptotics of the ordinary $q$-Krawtchouk ensemble. For $0 1$ limit is instead essentially self-adjoint, of Al-Salam--Carlitz~I type.
