Uniqueness of twisted linear periods
Let $F$ be a non-Archimedean local field of characteristic zero, and let $\D$ be either $F$ or a quaternion division algebra over $F$. We prove that every irreducible smooth representation of $\GL_{p+q}(\D)$ has at most one linear period transforming under any prescribed character of $\GL_p(\D)\times\GL_q(\D)$.
