Gromov hyperbolicity and uniformity
Source: arxiv.org/abs/2611.05416
In this paper, we first exhibit an example which answers negatively to a question posed by Herron et al. in 2008. That is, there is a rectifiably connected open set in a proper geodesic metric space so that it is Gromov hyperbolic with respect to the quasihyperbolic metric, and its Gromov boundary endowed with a visual metric is naturally bilipschitz equivalent to its metric boundary, but it is not uniform. Moreover, two positive answers are given under additional hypotheses. It is shown that a metric space is uniform if and only if it is Gromov hyperbolic and the natural map between its…
